This is not your rest.

Micah 2:10 This is not your rest.

When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be. When we all see Jesus, we’ll sing and shout the victory. Oh Father, looking forward to that great day, true rest and peace in your presence. Cause that picture to become a reality in Michelle’s mind and cause it to keep her when days are long and hard down here. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

The best is yet to come.

Deuteronomy 12:9 Ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the Lord your God gives you.

Thank you Father that life on this earth is not all there is. Keep us, keep Michelle reminded that this life is the beginning of a much greater plan you have for each of us as individuals. The best is yet to come. Thank you Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

Keeping our eyes on God in times of trouble.

Job 5:6, 7 Affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground; yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

Father God, there is no end to trouble in this world. There is no shortage of trial, travail, and temptation, yet you our Father know it all, see it all and you have it all under your control. Keep our eyes, keep Michele’s eyes turned upward to you and as the sparks fly upward may we all be looking to you. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

Meeting the demands of the day.

Lamentations 3:27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth

Thank you Lord for the joy of life and the strength to live it. Surround Michelle with your presence and protection as she meets the demands of her day. Walk before her and carry her when needed. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

Peace passing all understanding

Philippians 4:6,7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Father in Heaven, If Michelle feels any anxiety, then help her to remember that Your Word instructs us to talk to You about that matter. Like a good father, You are concerned for her emotional state. And while You may not deliver her from fears in the way that she thinks, You will give her peace of mind which by the world's standards is strange given the circumstances. Lord may she also remember not just to ask and receive, but to give back to You with thanksgiving. Cause her to be able to think back on how You have recently delivered her and give You thanks for doing so. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

You are the potter, we are the clay.

Isaiah 64:8  O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see we beseech thee, we are all thy people. - -

Father, thank you being a God who is willing to work on us and in us. Thank you for your patience and longsuffering with us when we sin. Thank you that we are your people and are called by your name. Remind Michelle each day of her place in you and her responsibility to give you glory. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

Turn me Lord, and I shall be turned.

Jeremiah 31:18,19 Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God. Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.

Thank you Lord that you do not spare us by ignoring our sins. Thank you Lord that you do not allow us to continue in our sins without your guidance and chastisement. Help us to cooperate and not resist your work in us. Your will and ways are always best. Thank you that in each and every house, including the White House there is room at the cross. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

Beware the proud heart.

Proverbs 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

Protect us Lord from the snare of feeling independent from you. Forgive us when we think we can accomplish anything on our own. Warn us from alliances that may endanger our faith. Keep Michelle as she walk and works in this world. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God

I Peter 5:6-9 Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.

Dear Father, thank you for this new year and all it will hold. Thank you that you already have all the things that we will encounter under your control. Thank you for being a God who can be completely depended on. Thank you in advance for the opportunities that Michelle will be presented with this year. Open doors for her and pave the way as she attempts to honor you, care for her family, and shine as woman of God. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
